J.L. Burke Contracting, Inc. served as Construction Manager for this 35,616sf office design/build in the old downtown warehouse known as 600 West Chicago. To accomplish meeting the client’s tight budget, J.L. Burke Contracting, Inc. used specialty products for unconventional applications such as:
· Polygal greenhouse roofing product as a wall covering.
· 4’ doors, hinged on two sides, because of issues with un-even floors and floor having a crown for drainage; floors were out of level 6”.
§ In order to achieve appearance of level doors & ceilings/soffits, JLB had to custom fabricate every door at different heights so that tops of door frames would be level to each other
· Architects drawings were not workable with existing space. JLB had to problem-solve and create alternative solutions to accommodate tenant’s requirements and yet still have feasible construction options.
