Functioning as a servery for the entire 22 acre campus, Café Moderne has become the social gathering place for the many tenants that reside at this tech park. Originally this space was a full scale restaurant, now it serves hot and cold lunch in this modern servery. Because the original floor was tiered, running new plumbing was becoming a challenge, so J.L. Burke suggested raising the floor up to grade with the plumbing being run in the new floor. This idea saved our client substantial dollars and also made the area more fluid. With cherry wood millwork, granite countertops, custom made seating, and custom tile inlays such as eco-friendly Wausau tile made from recycled glass, this space has a retro feel that relates to its origins.
